Well, It's spring in January in good old Pennsylvania. The freaking flowers are budding! Normally, I'ts supposed to be winter now and snow should be on the ground. I'm pretty sure global warming is screwing up the Earth.
But, we might get some snow if the gulf stream gets stopped and we have another ice age!

As you all probably don't know, Global-Warming is a very serious topic to me and I'm glad someone has pointed this out. Thank you, Crow. I caw to you in congratulations.

So important you'll discuss that pirates are the worlds global warming saviours?
This has become a discussion thread. I personally don't think that modern life has had such an effect on global warming as one might think; compared to the nature destroying machines of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the only different is what we're burning to make things work. If you took similar studies in Victorian Britain, where coal powered literally everything that needed power, and as a result, the hydrocarbon that coal is pumped harmful chemicals into the air. Since the steam engine was originally developed by James Watt in the 1830's, then this act of pollution on a global took place over nearly 100 years.
So while I do my part to help global warming (Shut off nessicary lights, shutdown computers, walk everywhere, recycle, etc), I don't think it's as critical as everyone's making it out to be. If everyone does there part as I do, then the chances of global warming are severely decreased.
Unless those ignorant enough to think that global warming is but myth are the majority of the world population. :\

WOO HOO IT SNOWED TODAY! But then again, yesterday it snowed in cali-freaking-fornia and Teaxas! You're lucky! It never snow in England this year. I remember last year in January I still needed to turn on the radiator, but now it's so warm compare to last year. Global warming is getting serious. *sigh*

This is true, you are right about if everyone does there part. All you have to do is recycle once in a while and you've probably done what's nescessary, but some people may not take it seriously. Each time the ozone layer is damaged from when it was repaired, it's three-times bigger than when it last was. It's not just that global-warming causes hurricanes, changes will go slowly but they will be big if we don't take it seriously.
Hehehe.

The sooner people let go of their greed, is the sooner a new, safe energy source is created. Nuclear is not bad, but where does the waste go? And they are targets for terrorists. It's an odd thing really, modern life has made the balance of nature severely altered, do we have to sacrifice things to save nature? or just keep ourselves warm as we bring about the new iceage?
I suppose it's the oxymoron that most people don't understand; global warming bringing about a new ice age.

global warming wont seriously effect us untill 100 years or more. The main problem is that if we dont make serious decisions ourselves now our grandchildren will have to make them. Im glad people are begining to relise global warming and take action, recycling etc. But others need to follow, for example china is now one of the biggest polluters in the world.

I'm trying to tell my friends to be more green, or at least stop wasting papers to make paper aeroplanes(childish, lol). They just called me a nerd who wants to save the planet. I hope they'll understand in the future.

Where I live, nobody gives a nuts about the future. They just care about buying $100 Holister shirts and walking around in there little uggs, and the worlds getting anal via the greenhouse effect. And greenhouse gases are getting worse by the day, and someday we will be facing this: csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/venus/greenhouse.html
