I thought I would share some ideas about my upcoming EE4 Proposal.
Basically I want EE4 to follow the principles and game play of what made the original Empire Earth great.
This includes following Empire Earth's RPS system. The unit relationship diagrams for EE can be found Here The only edit I have made is to remove the Sea King Helicopter.
The resource system should be similar to EE2, since the original is unrealistic with there being no oil or uranium in later epochs. EE3 I found was far too simple with only 2 resources.
There should be 10 epoch's, Stone Age, Copper Age, Bronze Age, Dark Age, Middle Ages, Imperial Age, Industrial Age, Atomic Age, Digital Age and Nano age. This should give plenty of depth to the game without going overkill like EE2 (15 epochs is hell of alot) and not the pathetic 5 epochs we got in EE3.
The game will consist of 3 campaigns, Greek, China and America. I choose Greek because I thought it would be a great homage to the original, since that is first campaign most of Empire Earth fans ever played. China for the romance of the three kingdoms (Wei, Wu, Shu) and America for WW1/WW2 and later epochs. I think a great idea would be in the digital age a nuclear war/biological weapon used, followed by a post-apocalyptic Nano Age like a Fallout 3 scenario.
And also when you finish the game you unlock a Zombie Game, where you have to build a base and defend against an zombie attacks untill you're forces are wiped and your score is posted online on to a ranking system.
Oh and the Territory system should be removed since it severely restricted the gameplay. Perhaps a system where when you close off/surround your base with walls, the land changes to your colour (like when you take a territory in EE2) within your walls.
I'll also be discussing lots of features that should be implemented. Any comments or any other ideas that you want me to include please post here.
