I've been hex editing some of the dat files in data.ssa.
I was interested in modifying the resource values, but can't find their hex values. Anyone know where I should look?
I've been searching in dbworld.dat, but can't find them. I've search in some of the other dat files, but haven't found anything either.
I posted a thread at eeheaven, but the place seems dead...

Here is some additional information about my search for resource values.
Here are all the objects designated as "res" in dbobjects.dat:
Res - Stone Mine
Res - Gold Mine
Res - Forage Bush
Res - Stone Mine 5
Res - Iron
Res - Deer
Res - Stone Mine 1
Res - Stone Mine 2
Res - Stone Mine 3
Res - Elephant
Res - Giraffe
Res - Tiger
Res - Hippopotamus
Res - Shark
Res - Fish
Res - Ostrich
Res - Goat
Res - Eagle
Res - Walrus
Res - Wolf
Res - Chicken
Res - Horse
Res - Oil
Res - Stone Mine 4
Res - Stone Mine 6
Res - Gold Mine 1
Res - Gold Mine 2
Res - Gold Mine 3
Res - Gold Mine 4
Res - Gold Mine 5
Res - Iron 2
Res - Iron 3
Res - Dolphin
Res - Rice Paddy
Are these some of the actual resource objects that are used in single player maps?
Notice also that Res - Tree is absent. However, tree is present in dbobjects.dat for a total of 40 various entries.
Also, there are Res designations for animals in dbanimals.dat.
Mines have a resource value that starts at 300,00 but changes when mined. Maybe the value is stored elsewhere. Perhaps the same for trees, animals, etc.

Heres me thinking that i could just use notepad for this. Gonna have a look at the hex tutorials eeheavengames.

I decided to look in the EE and AOC executables themselves. Regarding the mine values, I found 11 occurrences of 300,000 in the EE executable and 12 in the AOC executable.
I modified each instance of 300,000 one at a time in EE AOC and then all of them simultaneously in EE. No change in mine values, but no crashes either. I need to work on it more though.
I'll also take a closer look at the executables for other values.
(I've been posting on this at EEHeaven too.)

Does anyone know how I can go about creating my 3D graphics or modify the original ones to use in the game in place of the original files?
