I was astonished by this. I had to post it! I managed to beat the Novaya Russia mission in 10 minutes! The hardest mission in the game! How, you ask?
In the very beginning I mobilized a force to take care of the rebels quickly. I disagreeault squad consisted of 8 Black Robes, 1 Black Robe Officer (henceforth abbreviated to B.R.O.), 4 Gladiator Tanks, and 3 each of Thor AT Guns and Paladin Cannons. At 5 minutes, I sent them all on a suicide mission to the rebel Capitol in the southeast, but the B.R.O. was to hang back and heal the others.
While I was building this force, I was mobilizing my citizens to build an airport. I also used 23 of the 25 civ points from the last mission on upgrading my bombers. F.Y.I., I used the other 2, and the 15 I got from killing off the rebels on Attack and Hit Points for my buildings. I believe the upgrades I chose were... just a moment... Cost Reduction, Build Time Decrease, Hit Points, and Speed. When the airport was completed, I immediately built two Titan Bombers (and saved 280 of gold AND iron on them, which was essential for the coming upgrades). When the first was built, I sent him out for a second to upgrade hit points and attack once each. The moment the second was built, at four minutes six seconds, I sent them both to nuke Ukraine. They succeeded, and neither died during the attempt, although I needed both to succeed in one trip. Seeing this, I upgraded the attack of the Titan bombers again, knowing that with the second upgrade I could down a Capitol with one blow.
While I was nuking Ukraine, my force was destroying the rebel Capitol. I sent them in and told them to ignore everything else, kill the Capitol. They were able to succeed, and I sent them back home immediately after the Capitol was killed, at seven minutes twenty-seven seconds. Once home, I sent the uninjured bomber out to upgrade its hit points again, just in case. Before the uninjured bomber made it back to the airport, the other bomber fully healed, and I, playing for speed, sent that one to nuke Oslo, at exactly eight minutes fifty-eight seconds. After watching him for a minute and a half, he succeeded in nuking Oslo, and I won, with exactly ten minutes and twenty-eight seconds on the clock.
So, what do you think? A good strategy for the mission? Also, if you doubt that I actually did this, or just want to see, I have 5 saved games, saved at these points in the game:
Ten seconds in
Four minutes six seconds in
Seven minutes twenty-seven seconds in
Eight minutes fifty-eight seconds in
Ten minutes twenty-eight seconds in
I haven't posted them because the game is on a different computer, and it would be a hassle to get them to the computer with Internet, but if someone insists, I will show the saves.
