It's a bit difficult to explain. But before you can even get your hand on those cinematic splines, you need to know how to write a basic script. About the cinematic splines though, I'll give you a brief explanation. First you need to create a spline from the cinematic splines editor. You can also create control points and keys into the spline(s). Control points lets you do some special things in that area, for example, change facing direction, camera angle, etc. While the keys I'm not quite sure about yet.
Once you've created the splines, you can preview it. Double click on the spline and the cinematic spline properties will pop up. This lets you set the cinematic settings, such as camera angle, speed of movement, etc. You can also preview it, go to View and click on "Preview Cinematics" and a small window will pop up. Then you can play the movie by pressing the play button in the cinematic spline properties.
When you've created several splines, you can now group them all togather in the "Cinematics..." in the edit drop down list. When completed, the last thing you need to do is to write this in the script. You should write it as a rule/triger, here's an example from my Troy scenario.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Victory //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// RULE ruleVictory ONESHOT if (!DoesUnitExist("Palace") ) then actionVictory END_RULE
ACTION actionVictory SCRIPT WORLD CreateDialogBox( "tx_battle_victory", "tx_troy_victory", false); SetObjectiveCompleted("Obj_BTROY_2"); STEP DoDelay(3); STEP ToggleFogOfWar(false); StartPlayingCinematic("Victory"); STEP PlayVoiceOver("German_Complete.mp3"); STEP DoDelayUntilCinematicTime(2); .......blah, blah, blah
