UPDATE, four more screens posted at http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=40770&mode=thread&order=0
Preview of the latest Empire Earth III is here http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=157662
Looking at the screens it seems like Empire Earth III will fully use shaders 3.0 and may use directx10 but should be compatible with directx9.
System requirements may be near enough to 1.8ghz/512mb of ram/ 128mb gfx card. (Close to C&C3, this is a total guess)
Looking at the second screenshot it seems like territories will still be used just like EE2 as well as weather effects. Graphics wise the game looks intense espescially looking at the models of the plane units. The UI looks much smaller than EE2 but this is only a preview and probably will change. The review says that EEIII will take a more radical approach rather than a conservative which will benefit gamers and make the empire earth franchise more relevant to todays modern games. Also on another note it is said that the EEIII will not be using gamespy which comes as a big delight to many fans, since in my opinion and many others gamespy is rubbish.
One of the main questions i have, is that how moddable will the game be and will customers get another map editor or an actual editor similar to the one in the original empire earth. Hopefully they will go with the empire earth editor and thus create a huge modding community that died out with EE2.
This preview brings good news to the empire earth community and hopefully will bring many new gamers to the empire earth franchise. I thank Mad Doc for carry on development on empire earth but I hope they do not make the same mistakes they have done in the past. Mainly the unbalance of units which can gradually deplete the online community which if a game is going to succeed needs.

I think the buildings seem to look a bit small(I hope they can make buildings bigger, like Rise and Fall and some other RTS games), since bigger buildings can probably reduce lag. Also it seems they are adding mythical units as well.
By the way, it's great news that they don't use gayspy *cough*, I mean Gamespy! Plus the graphics is absolutely stunning! But the main thing I want is a good balancing of units(games like EEII and Rise and Fall could have been great games, but both of them were killed by the bad balancing).

well according to Greg at the official forums, they did a customer survery aswell as some feedback from forum members to help them make EEIII. Hopefully someone said something about balances and modding issues.

http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/empire-earth-iii/780109p1.html here we have some infos about the game. It looks like there will be much of "unhistorical units" in ee3. "Unhistorical" means in this case "inaccurate", not fictional. I dont like the idea thouth.
"The Western Hussar, for example, is a mounted unit that can inflict fear on opponents. This Hussar bears almost no resemblance to the Russian soldier it's named after, though. What I saw was a bizarrely armored guy with metallic wings wielding a glowing black and red sword. "
Winged hussar is actually a polish/lithuanian, not russian cavalery type, but whats the difference, huh? ...fortunately guy didnt mess sherman tank with german panzerkampfvagen
" Bedouin camel rider can use the power of his camel's flatulence as a biological weapon that can stun opponents. "
I have a bad feeling about this...
BTW there is a new trailer, check the gametrailers.com

hmm interesting thx for the post. Looks like they really meant they were changing the style of Empire Earth. Also the trailer didnt impress me too much at all and some points look slightly laggy. I just hope maddoc know what they are doing.
And that blackhole unit I have seen too many times already and would of liked to see maybe another units special.

It looks too unreal, with mythical units. So far, I'm dissapointed.

I agreed with your opinion before I saw the actual game myself. The graphics and emphasised art really fits in well and makes EEIII look stunning. Some of the units are currently too big though imo, so I think they mad doc are still rescaling.

yeah the problems wasnt in empire earth and empire earth... I think the make the figures bigger to see how they created....but when they should make the buildings a little more bigger and the units a little bit smaller........but the ee3 cant be perfect ... im contently about the game
